SHEET EXPLOSIVES: DETASHEET, FLEX-X, SHEETEX—INERT SIMULANTS
Powdered high explosives such as RDX and PETN and plasticizer can be blended in a mixer with an extrudable viscous liquid rubber or plastic binder material with pigment, then forced out of the container by an extruder through a gap between two rollers. The material is collected on a moving, motorized table, where it air dries to a uniform thickness and width.
Securesearch, Inc. manufactures inert explosive simulant products in several thicknesses. The sheets have an x-ray correct signature, and can be cut to size with a knife or scissors. They are usually made light olive green in color, but can be formulated in other colors, including UN blue if the customer requires it. We can also assemble 4 ⅟4-inch thick blocks into a simulated, packaged M118 sheet explosive demolition block.
