Security Poster: Explosive Accessories

This reference poster depicts a small selection of accessories that have been used by some terrorist and insurgent group to detonate explosives and improvised explosive devices.

While the actual items will vary from country to country and among different insurgent groups, there are often commonalities that indicate supply linkages and possible joint training. Some of the items shown may be found in caches or safe houses, or may be viewed by police and security forces at vehicle stop checkpoints. This poster is valuable for awareness / recognition training.

Note that all of the posters in this series of 18 are also available in a book of technical descriptions and explanations, written by Patrick Gericke, publisher of the posters. He is a de-mining expert, veteran of both the Rhodesian and South African armed forces and a security expert specializing in terrorist weapons and explosives.
