Plastic explosives are primarily powdered high energy explosives (PETN, RDX, TNT are the most common) that have been blended with a chemical binder and a plasticizer combination, allowing for flexibility and mouldability over a wide temperature range.

These explosives can be detonated by a high strength detonator, or by detonating cord. Our inert simulant products replicate many of the features and characteristics of live plastic explosives, including density, color, flexibility, packaging and labelling, and accurate x-ray image “signature” for a wide range of x-ray devices.
