KINEPAK: KINESTIK & KINEPOUCH

Securesearch, Inc. now sells inert empty samples of the Kinepak line of two-part explosives products. Kinepak products are blasting agents and the two separate formulations are non-explosive until mixed.

These consist of a "binary explosive system" using 1 tube and 1 bottle, or 1 tube and 1 plasticized foil pouch. In either format, the tube in the system contains a liquid formulation. This is opened and poured into the bottle (Kinestik Solid) or into the plastic pouch (Kinepouch). These contain a powder.

The liquid content percolates through the powder and is allowed to stand for a short period until fully absorbed. The liquid sensitizes the formerly insensitive powder to accept a detonation wave and release its stored energy when detonated.

The Kinestik or Kinepouch is primed with a detonator and is detonated in the normal way. Detonation can be achieved using safety fuse with a non-electric detonator; by an electric detonator; or by using a Nonel detonator and shock tube initiator. The Kinestik Solid bottle has a detonator well molded into its wall, to accept a detonator. The Kinepouch Solid pouch must be pierced in order to pour in the liquid component and insert the detonator.

The set of 5 containers may be purchased loose, ordered by our catalog number ITA-KINE-L or mounted on a small display board with a fold-out stand under our catalog number ITA-KINE-DB. Products are labelled "INERT" in blue and white.
