Securesearch,
Inc. now has available a range of
inert non-electric and electric detonators. The electric detonators are complete
with bridge wire assembly, accordion-fold leg wires and metal foil shunt on the
bare wire ends. The shells come in aluminum or copper.
The bridge wire unit is commercially manufactured
for use in live detonators, but contains no match head or flash charge. The
detonator shells can be supplied empty or with an inert explosive simulant,
which will show up on color monitor x-ray imaging equipment. The bridge wire
will also appear on an x-ray image.
The aluminum detonators are available in the
following lengths:
-
2.1 inches, imprinted in black,
"DANGEROUS / BLASTING CAP / EXPLOSIVE / DANGER / DETONATEUR /
EXPLOSIF" or imprinted in orange, "DUMMY / FAUX" with 2
orange bands.
-
2.35 inches (non-electric safety fuse cap),
with flared open end, identical to the U.S. special military M7. No imprint.
The copper detonators are available in the
following lengths:
-
2.4inches
-
3.025 inches
-
3.9 inches
All the copper detonators carry the same imprint
in black, in both English and French, as on the aluminum black-imprinted
detonators. (They can also be supplied with the French imprint removed for
certain operations. Please indicate this on your order).
None of the above inert detonators have a hole
drilled in them. Except for those with the orange imprint, none of the other
detonators have on them any indication or marking that they are inert. This
makes them suitable for sting operations.
We also carry an assortment of inert Nonel
non-electric detonators, all with blue plastic flash tubes. The flash tubes come
in 3-foot, 12-foot and 80-foot lengths. Some are available as
double-tube/double-cap units with the tubes coiled on plastic spools. All of the
Nonel detonators have a 1/8" hole drilled in the tip of the metal shell.
