This 5-day course provides police, military and security personnel [excluding qualified bomb technicians] with the knowledge to safely and efficiently carry out a search for hidden improvised explosive devices [IEDs] at security vehicle inspection points and VIP motorcade vehicles. Subjects taught include;

  • basic explosives theory

  • composition and characteristics of explosives 

  • IED types and methods of triggering

  • vehicle search procedures

  • minimum of four [4] practical search exercises
